CoLabination is looking for a Graphic Design Intern to join our fun, innovative and rapidly growing ecommerce company. Qualified interns will play a key role in designing our brand image. Interns will be expected to create clear communication and marketing designs as well as graphs, charts, images and symbols and use them, along with other audiovisual components, to create a coherent message. We are looking for a top-notch design student or graduate with a great understanding of type and image.

Internships are often a semester or yearlong, unpaid, but with the option to receive college credit. Interns are not limited to a time constraint, in fact, we encourage you to stay as long as you would like and potentially become a full-time employee.

Responsibilities:

Develop graphic material for web pages.
Design logos for products and business.
Develop signs and environmental graphics.
Create promotional displays, packaging, and marketing brochures.
Meet with art directors to collaborate on design.
Perform research on competitors and market trends.
Make changes to mock-ups.
Develop new business contacts.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
Obtain approval of concept by submitting rough layout to upper management.
Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
Plan concept by studying information and materials.
Illustrate concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
Use computer software to create electronic versions of designs.
Employ color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques when designing project.

More Skills/Qualifications:
Expert experience in CS5/CS6 – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Identity/branding experience
Excellent knowledge of typography
Experience in a graphic design within an ad agency or design firm is desired
Extreme attention to detail
Working knowledge of web development and coding practices is a plus
Expert time management skills
