Confluence (www.confluencecorp.com) provides a wide range of information technology services to nonprofit organizations. With close to 1,000 clients across the country, this internship is a unique opportunity to learn business development best practices. The successful candidate will also be exposed to the state-of-the-art in technology and technology consulting business, and get to know the nonprofit sector in all its diversity. The position is located at 1828 L Street, NW close to two metro stops and in the heart of downtown Washington DC.

Graduating from this internship, individuals can expect to be successful in competing for competitive business development positions in the nonprofit, commercial and federal contracting communities. Skills will include:
•Writing proposals
•Identifying and qualifying opportunities
•Responding to initial inquiries about Confluence services
•Managing and reporting out on a pipeline / forecasting
•Assisting with marketing and public relations initiatives
•Assisting with some technical projects

Qualifications:

Candidates are required to:
•Have a four year college degree
•Be located in the Washington DC area by the start of the internship
•Have excellent written and verbal skills
•Be proficient with Microsoft Word and a quick writer, copy-writing skills a plus
•Some technological literacy a plus, though not a requirement
