Internship Costuming Internship (Theatrical Costuming Construction)
Join our team! Orlando Repertory Theatre is accepting applications for a Costuming Intern for the 2019-2020 season!
The Costuming Internship is a construction-based and project-oriented experience that is essential to anyone building his or her portfolio or gaining real-world experience in a costume shop. Interns work side-by-side with the Costume Shop staff and Show Designers to construct each production. They are involved in all parts of the build process from deciphering designer’s renderings to building, pulling, and altering garments. Applicants should have basic sewing skills and the ability to read and follow a pattern. Advanced sewing skills, such as pattern drafting and draping are a plus but are not required. This internship is based on a 40 hour work week and the intern receives a weekly stipend of $175 to assist with living expenses. Housing is not provided.
While this internship is preferred to run as a year-long opportunity (end of May 2019 through May 2020), it is also available as a summer internship (end of May 2019 through August 2019) or as a season internship (August 2019 through May 2020). Please specify in your application which internship length you prefer.
