Harvest Home is currently looking for interns to assist during the off season. We are looking for a talented and imaginative office workers to help with promotions and grant research.
This is a great hands-on learning experience for interns interested in working with health promotion in NYC’s under served communities as well as a great opportunity to assist low income neighborhoods. Interns will be working with HHFM, to encourage residents to eat healthier and increase their intake of nutrients and fiber rich fruits and vegetables.

Harvest Home Farmers’ Market (HHFM ) is an NYC non-profit organization dedicated to increasing access to local, farm-fresh produce to low-income neighborhoods. HHFM has markets located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens and accepts Food Stamp/EBT cards, Women Infant and Children Farmer’s Market Nutrition Coupons (FMNP), Senior Coupons and Health Bucks. Our markets create a community gathering place that educates the public about health and nutrition supports regional agriculture and provides volunteer opportunities six days a week during the summer season.

Qualifications:

Requirements
Students applying for this internship must have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Office administration. Applicants should also have strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media. Only interns proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications should apply.

Monitor all forms of media
Schedule and coordinate speaking engagements, appearances, photo shoots, and other special events
Write press releases and other materials
Screen phone calls
Assist with mailings, print production
Create interview preparation materials
Compile contact lists
Search for press clippings
Create or update databases
Greet guests and clients
