Description:

CAPC is seeking a creative, hard-working, self-starter to participate in its inaugural internship program. The internship will provide valuable experience in the operation of a healthcare nonprofit, including project management, communications, and data analysis. The intern will be involved in the day-to-day operations of CAPC, providing key support in for the research, project development, and communications departments.

Responsibilities
The intern will work with CAPC staff on the following main projects:
1. Palliative Care Leadership Centers™ (PCLC) Project: PCLCs provide intensive, operational training and yearlong mentoring for palliative care programs at every stage of development and growth.
Program participants provide feedback about each of the PCLC trainings. CAPC analyzes the information and prepares reports for the PCLCs. These reports help the PCLC staff gain important insight about the effectiveness and efficacy of their training sessions. The PCLC initiative provides continuing education credits for attendees. The application and approval process is submitted on a bi-annual basis.

For this project the intern will:
• Track the evaluation forms received from each of the PCLC sites
• Review data entered by data entry staff for accuracy and completeness
• Analyze evaluation data; summarize and interpret the results
• Prepare reports on the results of the PCLC training evaluations
• Preparation and supporting documentation for CME (continuing education credits) application

2. Website Redesign and Analysis: CAPC is currently in the process of redesigning its website. The intern will assist with:
• Analyzing existing site content and assets
• Reviewing Google Analytics and compiling site audience profiles and traffic analysis

3. Survey Design: CAPC conducts survey research in order to assess various aspects of the palliative care field as well as to ascertain the needs of its constituents. The intern will assist CAPC staff in designing surveys using Qualtrics survey software (www.qualtrics.com).
In addition to these projects, the intern will:
• Compile a document inventory pertaining to CAPC and its constituents
• Provide general administrative support to other projects as requested

Qualifications:

CAPC seeks a student (or recent graduate) pursuing a graduate-level degree in public policy, public health, marketing research, or a related field; undergraduate students need not apply.

Potential candidates must have a strong commitment to CAPC’s mission and should possess excellent writing, analytic, research, and communication skills. We are searching for candidates who are highly organized, detail oriented, have the ability to prioritize tasks, and can work both cooperatively and autonomously.

In their statements of interest, candidates must describe experience with MS Excel, website development, and survey design.

CAPC is committed to making the internship a meaningful learning experience by providing opportunities for the intern to participate in projects and/or meetings that are appropriate for career development.

A minimum time commitment of 35 hours per week is required. Available from late-June to end of August (some flexibility allowed). This is a paid internship program at $12 per hour.
