Technology and Communications Assistant

The Technology and Communications intern will work closely with the Alliance team to assist with website and social media development to increase operational efficiency and program effectiveness. The intern will assist with the following activities:
•Website development and updates
•Webinar/video conferencing administration
•SmartPhone application project
•Identifying technology and web application solutions for increased work flow
•Social Media updates and strategy
•Graphic design and branding
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
•IT and applications experience in the field of philanthropy and nonprofit sectors
•Up-to-date understanding of market trends and keen interest in following emerging technologies
•Expert knowledge of modern web technologies, social networking platforms and mobile platforms
•Basic understanding Mac/PC operating systems and the use of mobile devices to enhance organizational productivity
•Basic video/audio editing skills
•Ability to participate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical staff
•Demonstrated leadership and advanced communication skillsPREFERRED SKILLS
•High level competency with Microsoft Office
•Proficient in Joomla 1.5 web platform and/or Word Press
•Experience using webinar/video conferencing platform
•Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and PhotoshopPreference goes to students in the fields of Computer Science/Engineering, Advertising/Marketing, Communications, Media Arts, and Technology.

Overview of the Family Justice Center AllianceTags:
The Family Justice Center Alliance is a nonprofit agency launched in 2006 to provide training, technical assistance, and resources to Family Justice Centers worldwide. A Family Justice Center provides multi-agency services to domestic violence victims under one roof. The National Alliance also hosts an annual international conference, provides shared learning opportunities such as staff exchange programs, international internships, web-based education programs, and training in the area of family violence. The Alliance also manages the Legal Network located at the San Diego FJC, which provides assistance in obtaining temporary restraining orders and court accompaniment for victims of domestic violence.Selection Process:
