The Event Management Intern will play an integral role in the planning, execution and evaluation of the fundraising event component of a Brooklyn Council candidate. This campaign includes hosting a variety of events for the community and the candidates contacts to raise money to support her campaign.

As Event Management Intern he/she will work with the teams responsible for putting together detailed plans to execute a full season of events. The candidate must be able to work independently. The event organizer is hands-on and will require working as part of a team. You will need to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear, effective communication, critical thinking, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, make decisions and ensure the smooth and efficient running of an event. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to fund raising, communication with candidate’s network, vendors, and event staff, and other duties as assigned. This position will report to the lead of the project and will attend meetings as needed

Qualifications:

• Planning, coordination, and management of campaign events • Coordination with event partners and partner staff • Managing a budget • Working with a team to obtain proper invitations and materials• Working with a team to plan and execute all logistical items for the events•
• Working with a team to coordinate donation collection and proper documentation •Prepare logistic documents for all vendors • Day of event management • Post event evaluation • All other duties approved by supervisor.

Hours: 10+ Hours per week. Evening and weekend hours may be required. We will accommodate prospective students schedules as best as possible. Actual hours may vary depending upon requirements of the position/event, etc.

Required Education and/or Experience: Must be at least 18 years old and have experience event planning. Though the experience doesn’t have to be professional, an solid understanding of planning events is needed. Flexible schedule. Ability to work remotely. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
