Description:

The Marketing & Operations Intern will play a integral role in the strategic and operational planning of SOMS. The intern will gain experience and insight into how a non-profit organization operates by working extensively with the organization’s board of directors. Interns will be assigned to projects that focus on business administration, grant development, economic and social science research, marketing and communications, and strategic planning.

Because the SOMS team is located in both Houston, Texas and Washington, D.C., the internship will primarily function as a virtual position with both virtual and in-person supervision, where interns are required to meet with supervisors at least once a week.

Qualifications/Techniques/Skills:
Excellent writing and communication skills
Computer skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Self-Motivated
Strong critical thinking skills
Interest in nonprofit work and philanthropy
