Disclaimer: This is a volunteer internship program, which is educational in its nature, with options for federal work study pay or academic credit. Federal work study pay and academic credit are strictly contingent on the applicant’s academic institution. It will be the academic institution, not the Digital Millennial Internship Program, which will determine the applicant’s eligibility for such options. Otherwise, the Digital Millennial Internship Program is a volunteer, unpaid program fostering digital work experience, logical reasoning, and interdisciplinary collaboration with global intellects. The program is completely online. Formal Letters of Recommendation will be issued to students who complete the program for future employment or other academic programs.

Who We Are:

Mission to Rebuild, LP is a limited partnership, headquartered in Washington, DC. We are a newly formed limited partnership that is gearing up to launch a trade platform in renewable energy online this year. Our main cause is Mission to Rebuild, Inc. nonprofit organization who endeavors to build advanced green, technical and trade schools. We are an ecologically and economically conscious business, and we are reaching out to collegiate students or recent graduates to help us with our launch.

Program Summary:

The Digital Millennial Internship Program debuted in Fall of 2015, in its inaugural year, as one of the very first programs to put students and recent graduates at the forefront in a completely digital internship program, paralleling Mission to Rebuild, Inc. nonprofit’s Student World Leaders Program. This will be achieved by (1) bringing many different backgrounds together, (2) fostering growth through work experience digitally, online in a safe-space, and (3) reaching students who see themselves as the next entrepreneurs, researchers, or academic professionals of the future.



Teams will meet weekly through a web conference based on the mutually agreed upon time by the team. Assignments will be released on the Sunday evening of the start of each week, but will not be due until the Friday of the week. This will be the assignment distribution during each of the 5 weeks of the summer session. This allows for interns to have multiple jobs and programs alongside the summer program. Formal Letters of Recommendation will be issued to students who complete the program for future employment or other academic programs.

How It Works:

The Digital Millennial Internship Program is composed of four teams: Research, Information Technology (IT), Social Media, and Marketing. There are no set hours, as each team will have a reasonable weekly goal and work will be divided amongst the team to reach that goal. You will collaborate and work independently in a digital environment. This program is designed to be an exciting and engaging opportunity. Each team will be led by a student Team Lead who will guide and record team outcomes and lead team discussions and web conferences. Specialized positions, based on areas of interest, will be given to other team members once the teams are finalized.

Research Team – will analyze market economies, top industry players, and synthesize.

Skills/Qualifications Needed: Possesses copy and has knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel spreadsheet, project management, data input, and data gathering skills, a good grasp on analytics, statistics, market studies, and comparative studies, basic knowledge of business and technology, has internet access and the ability to make domestic phone calls to follow up on research, if needed. This position fits best with an intern who wishes to accelerate in research on sustainable and renewable companies and markets, economics, and social needs.

Information Technology (IT) Team – will help to launch the Beta version of our trade platform.

Skills/Qualifications: Ability to do IT research independently and take instruction from our IT Partners, delve into the backend of the site, fix coding by researching independently and with instruction, run security protocol with instruction, and can meet at least once a week for a web conference. This position fits best with an intern who wishes to accelerate in learning coding languages, compatibilities, and “sprinting” each week to fix issues.

Social Media Team – will handle social media, creative design, and building friends/following on our Social Media pages.

Skills/Qualifications: Has internet access, access to digital design software such as Photoshop or similar software (optional), understands how to combine creativity with a marketable product, brainstorming ability within a specified time frame, knows how to find and analyze demographic data, project management skills, and knowledge of how to gather followers and post on social media outlets such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. This position fits best with an intern or future freelance writer or blogger who wishes to accelerate in research and dissemination of visible material in the areas of eco-consciousness, renewables, and economics with interesting posts for building followers and respond to feedback.

Marketing Team – will contact certain media outlets, newspapers, and journals.

Skills/Qualifications: Will research business backgrounds, be in contact with business executives and/or management for the dissemination of information to media sources, answer emails and customer service chat requests, has internet access, possesses a copy and understands how to use Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel spreadsheet, account management skills, problem identification and problem solving skills, ability to be attentive, goal-oriented, and persuasive, has good communication and retention skills, and the ability to address individuals by name. This position fits best with an intern or future entrepreneur who wishes to accelerate with hands-on experience of marketing to media sources.
