Social media has never been more important than it is today, not only for accessing up-to-date information immediately, but to communicating and building an active and engaged relationship with people all around the world. The only way we’re going to beat this disease is with the persistent help of the American public.That said, we need your help and innovative ideas in making the most of our technology platforms.End Malaria Now is seeking motivated, hard-working and responsible college students or young professionals looking to gain experience working with a nonprofit. Prior interning experience is not a requirement, but we do require you to have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. A potential intern should be comfortable working independently but also working with a team and a supervisor.
If you are a Social Media Guru, love tweetin’, facebookin’, Instagramin’ and all else social media, we’re looking for you! As our Social Media & Web Intern, you’ll help us deliver our message to hundreds of millions of people through the social web.
Responsibilities:
Developing new social media-led campaigns and initiatives
Maintaining and developing End Malaria Now’s online persona and voice
Researching the latest trends, strategies and insights in the world of nonprofit social media
Building and helping manage a social media calendar and strategy for current and new channels
Leveraging EMN’s celebrity and partner relationships through social media
Helping maintain www.endmalarianow.org, EMN’s email strategy and overall web presence
Networking with other leading social organizations to cross promote and develop joint campaigns (e.g. guest blogging, re-tweeting partner updates, sharing EMN affiliate Facebook posts, etc.)
Qualifications:
Passionately committed to our mission of building a movement
You have a deep knowledge of social media and are an active user
Your friends think of you as an innovator or trendsetter – always thinking of new ways to set the tone
Interest in international public heath, international development or related fields
Experience with website content management systems (CMS) or Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, are plusses
Demonstrate the highest standards and professionalism and civility
Detail-oriented and are able to multi-task many different tasks
Excellent communication skills
