Full Time Urban Children’s Ministry Director

City Impact, a faith based organization ministering to youth and families in Lincolns urban neighborhoods, is seeking an Urban Children’s Ministry Director for our elementary Bible Club program. Bible Club teaches biblical essentials and empowers youth to use their God-given gifts to impact their world.

Broad responsibilities of the Urban Children’s Ministry Director include program development; program management; staff, volunteer, student, and family engagement; and development of adult volunteer Directional Teams and Work Teams which provide leadership and oversight for all facets of Bible Club. Specific responsibilities include prepping and revising Bible curriculum, coaching, shepherding, and training staff and volunteers, data entry, collecting stories, overseeing worship, building relationships with families, recruiting new students to Bible Club, event planning, developing a yearly strategic plan, program evaluation, running a summer missionary program, and getting students to summer camp.

The Urban Children’s Ministry Director will be joining an organization fully committed to our vision to see urban youth, families, and neighborhoods transformed from the inside out by equipping people with the Good News of God’s love. They will be a part of a team of Youth Directors working together to create innovative, effective, and engaging programs which recognize, invest in, and encourage the unique strengths of urban youth, so that their leadership makes a positive difference in their communities. Our dream is for urban youth to know and become the people God created them to be – to be resilient, strong, courageous, and pursue a life of purpose.

High School Girls Classroom Leader

City Impact is a faith-based community development organization seeking part-time Teen Classroom Leaders for our Impact Leadership Academy (ILA). The ILA teaches biblical essentials while valuing strengths-based leadership development; empowering youth to use their God-given gifts to impact their world for Christ.

The overall responsibility of the Classroom Leader is to effectively oversee and manage the ILA classroom to which they are assigned. This includes effectively teaching the entire class the core Bible curriculum, confidently enforcing high expectations, carrying out disciplinary procedures. Some classrooms may have Small Group leaders, in this case Classroom Leaders are also responsible for encouraging and shepherding the other adult volunteers in classroom and making sure all small groups are running smoothly. At program, the Classroom Leader will spend time in front of their class of 10-20 teens teaching big group Bible Study discussions. If there are additional volunteers in assigned classroom, the leader should make themselves available to small group leaders to answer questions and handle behavior issues. The classroom leader will be responsible for prepping the Bible lesson, empowering small group leaders by providing meaningful ways for them to contribute during class (when applicable), and connecting relationally with students. This includes being thoroughly prepared to teach the Bible Lesson with confidence at program each week and communicating well with other adult leaders in classroom.

Part-Time Youth Philanthropy Team Coordinator

City Impact, a faith based organization ministering to youth and families in Lincolns urban neighborhoods, is seeking a part-time Youth Philanthropy Team Coordinator for our teen Impact Leadership Academy program. The Impact Leadership Academy teaches Biblical essentials and strengths-based leadership development that empowers youth to use their God-given gifts to impact their world for Christ.

Youth Philanthropy is anything young people do to make the world around them a better place. The Youth Philanthropy Team Coordinator will lead a group of young people to identify a cause-local, national, or global- that is close to their hearts, educate themselves regarding the issue and then develop a plan to aid the mission of their cause. They will also be responsible for educating other students in City Impact regarding the cause they have adopted and will potentially involve all City Impact classes in the implementation of the plan for action. Additionally, the Youth Philanthropy Team Coordinator will be responsible for the facilitation of fundraising and grant writing and research to support the implementation of the plan. The Team Coordinator will be given the training and resources necessary for leading a successful team of young philanthropists.

Part-Time Children’s Program Classroom Teacher

City Impact, a faith based organization ministering to youth and families in Lincolns urban neighborhoods, is seeking a Classroom Leader for our elementary Bible Club program. Bible Club teaches biblical essentials and empowers youth to use their God-given gifts to impact their world.

The responsibility of the Classroom Teacher is to oversee and manage the classroom to which they are assigned. This includes teaching the curriculum, managing the schedule, enforcing high behavior expectations, carrying out disciplinary procedures, encouraging and shepherding the other adult volunteers in classroom, and making sure all small groups are running smoothly. Additional responsibilities included prepping curriculum and making brief contacts with volunteers outside of class during the week.

Part-Time Children’s Program Site Coordinator

City Impact, a faith based organization ministering to youth and families in Lincolns urban neighborhoods, is seeking a Site Coordinator for our elementary Bible Club program. Bible Club teaches biblical essentials and empowers youth to use their God-given gifts to impact their world.

Primary responsibilities of the Site Coordinator include assisting parents and staff, answering questions, managing students, set-up and tear down of program resources, and being available to solve problems as needs arise. This position includes a fair amount of physical work including lifting/moving tables, chairs, and other program resources.

Part-Time Youth Program Incentive Store Coordinator

City Impact, a faith based organization ministering to youth and families in Lincolns urban neighborhoods, is seeking a part-time Youth Program Incentive Store Coordinator for our elementary Bible Club and our teen Impact Leadership Academy programs. These programs teach biblical essentials and empower youth to use their God-given gifts to impact their world.

Children and youth involved in core City Impact programs earn weekly incentives that they redeem monthly in our Youth Incentive Store. The Youth Store Coordinator will lead a small group of youth in Grades 6-12 in overseeing and managing this store. Primary activities include organizing and decorating the store, sorting donated items, pricing items, helping children for items, and accurate record keeping. Additionally, the Youth Store Coordinator will include youth in shopping excursions to purchase appropriate items for Grades Pre/K – 12 for the store.

Part-Time Children’s Program Song/Worship Leader

City Impact, a faith based organization ministering to youth and families in Lincolns urban neighborhoods, is seeking a Song/Worship Leader for our elementary Bible Club program. Bible Club teaches biblical essentials and empowers youth to use their God-given gifts to impact their world.

The Song/Worship leader is responsible for leading a 15-minute singing and prayer time at the end of Bible Club. Primary responsibilities include setting up fellowship hall for worship, selection of songs, development of song motions, and being up front guiding worship activities. Additional responsibilities could include leading children in prayer, a Bible verse, or other supplemental worship activities.


Unpaid Intern of Urban Children’s & Youth Ministries

City Impact, a faith based organization ministering to youth and families in Lincolns urban neighborhoods, is seeking an unpaid Intern of Urban Children’s & Youth Ministries for our elementary Bible Club and Impact Leadership Academy programs. These programs teach biblical essentials and empower youth to use their God-given gifts to impact their world. This is an unpaid position; however; we will work hard with those who are interested in pursuing a career in Youth Ministry or working with Urban Youth and give you practical experience in the field. We will also give our intern the ability to work in a variety of settings and programs to explore their gifts, talents, and calling. We will also work with you and or your college advisor to get credit for this program.

The Intern of Urban Youth Ministries duties will include teaching as a small group leader in our programs, some data entry and reporting, engaging students and gaining feedback from them. It could also include developing lesson plans, event planning, large group teaching, sermon development and execution. The intern would also spend time with the program staff in directional and developmental meetings to get a picture of strategic planning. Other responsibilities could include volunteer engagement, PR work with families and neighborhood, and worship leading. We want to create a place for a talented intern to use their talents in a way that they see them being used in the future.
