TITLE: Community School Assistant Director Internship

REPORTS TO: Full Service Community School Director (Site Supervisor)

SUMMARY: The Community School Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the community school director with the implementation, integration, alignment and coordination of the community school strategy at the site level.

Community school assistant director will serve a 250-hour term during per semester

Community School Assistance Director
? Assist with implementing a menu of needs-driven, high-quality programs and services in adherence with the community school model, including but not limited to expanded learning and enrichment opportunities, health services, parent/family engagement, adult education, direct material assistance and intervention targeted to chronically absent students
? Assist with ensuring the alignment and integration of all programming with the Principal’s vision and school day curriculum to the fullest extent possible
? Assist with coordinating needs and resource assessment activities on an ongoing basis, employing a variety of strategies and including a broad cross-section of stakeholders
? Assist with supporting the research/ evaluation of the community school by supervision and coordinating the collection of data, timely submission of reports and responses to other requests for information made by the initiative’s leadership
? Assist with the planning of school events
? Attend meetings as directed by the Community School Director
? Order supplies
? Reach out to parents, school staff, and the community

Time Commitment
? Serve 15-20 hours a week during the school year

Qualifications and Experience
? Fluent in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and conversing) preferred
? Strong language and communication skills (written and oral)
? Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office (excel, word, publisher)
? Ability to fulfill a one semester community service commitment
? Ability to work well independently
? Strong organizational and follow up abilities
