Fashion Showroom Sales Intern
To gain hands on industry experience specifically in the sales sector of the fashion industry and a better understanding of the industry based on the market seasons within the high contemporary and young designer wholesale sector and will be able to observe and participate in actual sales and buyer appointments.
Qualifications:
· Observe sales appointment with buyers and greet them as they come in / Write up purchase orders according to delivery, understand how to evaluate look books and line sheets which differ for each designers
· ake sure showroom is clean and orderly and well-merchandised after appointments (memorizing sample locations according to delivery).
· Unpack, steam and merchandise collections as they come in.
· Help the showroom prepare for the bi-annual Sample Sale which is open to the public
· Learn our database called Showroom Exchange, enter orders into database and log system
· Research competitors stockists online and update contact information in Showroom Exchange, Contact stores via phone to acquire buyer’s email addresses
· Learn how to create and constantly update sales report.
· Intern should possess a strong interest in fashion, be open-minded, act as a team player, have a positive attitude and assist the sales staff in all areas while observing and contributing to everyday business activities and buyer appointments.
· Constant communication will be necessary with all the team members. Questions are encouraged. The intern will be advised to take notes during these training periods so that they may retain the information and will have to report back to East Cost Manager and confirm when jobs/tasks are complete.
· The intern will be trained prior to each new task and supervised throughout the internship period. Intern will be evaluated based on their ability and attitude but also on their professionalism, reliability, dependency, work ethic & organizational skills.
