Grants Intern (Fall 2020–Spring 2021)

This intern will provide support for the Development Department throughout the grant research and application process.Responsibilities include drafting grants or portions thereof, gathering information from colleagues, preparing support materials, conducting research for grant applications, compiling data, prospecting for new opportunities, helping to draft grant reports, proofreading others’ work, preparing funder briefings, writing thank-you letters to funders, and assisting in other ways as needed in the department’s overall fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
Requirements: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and enrolled in a college or university (undergraduates, graduate students, graduating seniors, and international students are welcome), and be available at least 8–10 hours a week (including occasional evenings or weekends to assist with development events or attend/observe programming related to grants). Applicants should have excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills; an eye for detail and accuracy; an ability to think strategically as well as pragmatically; a proactive style; and a commitment to teamwork. An interest in contemporary arts is preferred.
