John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York welcomes your application for paid Internships in Instructional Design and Development. The interns will assist in the development of online courses in the College’s online education programs and for its forthcoming Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist in the production of multimedia learning materials (such as instructional videos, podcasts, interactive tutorials, and graphics) for online courses
•Assist in the development of instructional design procedures, workflows, and frameworks for online course development
•Provide technical assistance for and serve as a resource to instructors as they develop and deliver their online courses
•Copyedit online course materials and deploy them to the learning management system
•Work on other areas of online course development as needed

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•A current student in an undergraduate or graduate program
•Fast learner, eager collaborator; meticulous attention to detail
•Demonstrated ability to be both a team player and an independent hard worker
•Outstanding organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience in the design and development of online courses
•Knowledge of MOOCs and open online courseware (e.g. Coursera, Udacity, Khan Academy, etc.)
•Knowledge of learning management systems (e.g. Blackboard, Moodle, Sakai, Desire2Learn, etc.)
•Skills with multimedia software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, and Camtasia (or similar tools)
•Experience with operating video, audio, and photography equipment
•Portfolio of Web or graphic design work
•Experience in producing training or education materials
