The Graphic Design Intern will actively provide day-to-day support to the Senior Graphic Designer. They will use their knowledge of current graphic design software to assist in producing graphic art for materials, including, but not limited to advertisements, web, social media, collateral, and PowerPoint presentations. GVC seeks candidates who are conceptual thinkers, detail oriented, passionate, driven, collaborative, solutions-oriented, consistently demonstrates a strong sense of professional integrity and accountability with an awesome sense of humor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Assists in creating layouts and designs of logos, advertising, marketing collateral, social media, web, and other published materials in print and online
- Assists with preparing final layout print-ready files or coded banner ads and manages internal production of all assets. (i.e. digital advertising including, emails, online banners, print ads, social media, websites, exhibit booths and special projects)
- Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout to senior designer
- Familiarity with and understanding of brand guidelines
- Keep designs consistent to the clients’ brands, while being innovative and interesting
- Assist in creation of PowerPoint presentations for new business pitches under the direction of senior management

Qualifications:

- 2+ years experience in graphic design (College Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to apply)
- Knowledge of various design-oriented computer software applications and web banner design basics, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Vector Design are a must)
- Knowledge of creative and production processes for art work
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Solid understanding of 4 color process and spot color printing
- Detail oriented and capable of providing creative solutions on aggressive timetables
- Proven ability to juggle projects and priorities
- Communicates openly, transparently and does so with optimism
- Knowledge of web design, mobile, and coding a plus
- Writing, editing skills, and copywriting a plus
- Master at PowerPoint presentations including concepts and design
- Must have portfolio of presentations, advertisements, online work, etc. that illustrate excellent design capabilities
- Must have own laptop with Adobe Creative Suite (Mac is preferable)

10-20/week
