Basic Functions: The ReStore Fellowship position’s goal is to prepare the individual for management positions with-in Habitat ReStores by providing hands on experience in all areas of ReStore management. He or she will provide value by providing leadership and support.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Gain proficiency and expertise in the following areas: donation procurement, donation dispatch and scheduling, volunteer recruitment, training and retention, and merchandise pricing and displays. This proficiency will be gained by rotating through different departments of the Habitat ReStore.
• Provide leadership on special projects.
• Analyze selected ReStore business lines for cost savings and efficiency gains.

Other Duties: Habitat Charlotte’s Fellowship Program aims to provide professional development to talented, motivated, and proficient individuals interested in continued employment with Habitat in both the near and long term. This is a short term, full-time, paid opportunity lasting one year. Further employment beyond the term dates of the Fellowship are not guaranteed. Because of the unique nature of this position, there will be a variety of required trainings which will be outlined in the “Fellowship Participation Agreement.”


• An enthusiastic desire to serve Habitat in a ReStore setting and to increase proficiency in ReStore management.
• Self-motivated, self-directed with personal integrity
• Highly developed interpersonal and conflict management skills, with an ability to work effectively with customers, volunteers and staff
• Able to handle multiple assignments in a constantly evolving environment
• Demonstrated leadership and potential for continued leadership
• Proficiency in database use and Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs without assistance
• Ability to stand or sit for the majority of an 8 hour day
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to ride in box truck, and get in and out of a car for the majority of an 8 hour day
• Ability to drive, Habitat will reimburse for mileage, in order to travel between the stores and interact at community events.
